I am like Andy in packing, but like you in waiting till the last. I’m like Andy in wanting to be really early to airport, but like you in not ever doing that. So, basically I stress myself out a whole lot.
Thank you for sharing cousin, and I definitely sympathize- “if I stop doing one thing to start doing something else, there’s a good chance that I’ll leave both those things unfinished to do a third thing” is just my life, and while not a brain injury, the ravages of menopause seem to have killed some of the tools I had to manage this way of being… (and lists don’t work for me either, because the list then becomes the thing i’m invested in doing and the items on it lose meaning!)
We still tell the story of consecutive visits years ago. First my cousin and husband with 2 large cases each for a trip of 2-3 weeks. Then you and David with one medium rucksack each for a trip of 3-4 months! You are the one who inspired us to now travel only with hand luggage even for a month in America!
Glad you can still tell your stories and sorry about your brain’s continued misbehaviours!
Whenever we stay at an Airbnb James colonises the dining table with all manner of flotsam. Never mind that we seldom use said table. It drives me crazy!
I am making more and more use of the Reminders app on my phone to remember stuff. For example, our neighbour frequently asks us to feed their cats for a weekend or longer. When that happens I set a reminder to pop up the first time we need to do the feeding and then after each feed I adjust the reminder to pop up the next time and so on and so forth. That’s how I make sure we never miss a feed.
Hilarious, as usual. I use the standard to do list on Mac. You can set it to remind you at a particular date-time or in a particular place. You can set it to KEEP reminding you until task complete, or you have reset time-date
It's on all Apple computers by default. I dunno about IBM clones running Windows. Here's the link to how to do it. There are a zillion organiser/list making apps for sale as well.https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/reminders/welcome/mac

Is this a separate app or something that comes with an iPhone? I feel like such a fool, but I have no idea where to find these things!
It comes already installed on the iPhone!

This will sound daft, but where is the to-do list on Mac?
Here's a guide to some of the best To Do organisers.https://www.whistleout.com/CellPhones/Guides/best-organization-apps
Thank you!!

I relate entirely to the hummingbird! You should see my studio! Neither painting nor quilting is entirely linear.
I remember a being amazed at a post where you displayed what you’d packed for a month of travel. Welcome to the other side!
Much love and admiration to you as you traverse this vast brain territory and juggle insurance vagaries too!
I'm glad you have each other.
